6) HOW DO YOU FEEL THE GRAFFITI MOVEMENT IN L.A AND IT'S SURROUNDING AREAS HAVE CHANGED IN THE PAST 10 YEARS?
Im down with change because its gonna happen regardless if I want it to or not. If your gonna stay relevant in graffiti you gotta keep up with the times. Though alot of new cats get there cheat on ( internet). Because real graffiti is illegal and done on foot. If I see that shit in person or on the street then your real to me. I gotta give props to everyone who bombs, its alot of risk! Teach the youth.

7) ANY GOOD BOMBING STORY'S?
Like running into complete strangers' houses in south central to get away from the 1 times... many.

8) WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE FROM SHUX IN THE NEAR FUTURE?
You can expect the same bombing and piecing from me in the future... maybe do it big one last time before its too late or just disappear with out a trace and paint canvas for the rest of my life.

INTERVIEW: KOAST AGENTS PBK

1: WHAT DO YOU WRITE?
KOAST

2. WHAT CREWS DO YOU WRITE FOR?
AGENTS Cru and Peasants Become Kings

3. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PAINTING?
I've been painting since 2001. A good 7 years and been trying to keep it active ever since. Now days it's getting harder and harder as the years go by for me to try to find time to pull the type of shit I was doing a few years back through out the night. Been stuck on that "quality" instead of that "quantity"

4. HOW DID THE NAME KOAST COME ABOUT?
actually when I first started painting for the first few months I was messing with a different name that I really didn't care for. Got my lazy ass up and started to vandalize the local area, which at the time I really didn't know what I was really getting myself into. Finally took it serious and pick up the letters I enjoy 'd best. Been making love to this name since day one

5. WHAT WAS ONE OF YOUR MAIN INFLUENCES AS A YOUNGSTER STARTING UP IN THE GAME? Pretty much anybody that was from my area but dope. I always had an eye out for the work I would see in person weather it was at a yard, street, or freeway spot. I guess noticing that the coachella valley actually had people that were pulling off fresh productions under a bridge in the middle of the desert was what got me to wanna be that much more better.

6. FREIGHTS OR FREEWAYS?
WHAT DO YOU PREFER? Freights, I got more history and personal experience with them. If you add up the amount of work i've done. Most of it would be freights rather then freeways. plus cant go wrong with a panel that wont get buff compared to a freeway or street spot. Also cant depend on something that eventually the city will get their hands on. in other words i've painted freeway spots at night but spend "MANY" nights in freight yards through out the years weather it was in the Coachella valley or L.A. area. talk about hitting a super walmart at 5am for extra paint before the sunrise. Good time's.....

7. ANY GOOD BOMBING STORIES?
plenty..... back in 04 me and the rest of my boys from agents were on the grind with them freight out in the Coachella valley. we would laterally chase them boxcars from one side of the valley to the other along the 10 freeway with little time until they would take off again. One summer while on the hunt me, aps, selt and animl happen to spot a fat line off the Indio blvd exit. So we park, gather our bag's and cross the street into the bushes. Once's inside everything was cool and we just started painting a few boxcars. Since this spot was right beside the the 10 freeway you were always able to hear the traffic at a high pitch, at one point from the distance we were able to hear a cop siren on the freeway getting closer and closer but like idiots we avoid it knowing it wasn't for us, it was just passing by the freeway. Soon enough once's the siren's got closer we realized it was a shit load of cops with there sirens on hauling ass towards us. When they got to where we were at painting by the freeway a hugh ass spotlight from the ghetto bird spotted the top of our boxcar that we were painting on. The night turn'd to daylight all over again, that's how bright and huge the spot light was. Right away we hide under the boxcar for the longest minute I could remember but the spotlight from the chopper wouldn't leave as if it was waiting for us to come out. Finally we said fuck it and ran out from underneath literally tripping and eating shit while running back into the bushes. The spotlight try'd following us but we all went different directions I guess making it hard for the ghetto bird. We never got caught....the bird keep'd moving along with the parade of cops that were speeding on the freeway. we found out soon enough it was a live high speed chase, we just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.........Oh yeah another time in L.A. I took the biggest crap at a yard in between two boxcars. had to rip a big part of my shirt off for toilet p aper. left a little something for the rat's to feast on. HA!

8.DO YOU FEEL LIKE AT THIS POINT IN YOUR LIFE YOU WOULD RATHER BE DOING LEGALS AND COMMISSION OR WILL GOING OUT BOMBING OR WRECKING FREIGHTS ALWAYS BE A PART OF WHAT YOU DO?
On the real if you would have ask'd me this question 2 years ago I would have probably said wrecking night spot's all illegaly but the table's have turn'd now that i've been getting older. Where I stand right now I got way to much to lose in my personal life and I got legal matter's that got me on check if you know what I mean, it ain't fun when you got someone to report to every two week's. But so far i've been trying to pull nothing but legals together which i've never had interest or the chance to do before until I hook up with certain peep's. Gotten hook and started to follow my boy's at what they where about and been please'd never since. I've had way to many CLOSE calls with pigs recently before I started to just focus on legals. I guess you could say that's what got me to see thing's alittle different. I mean I was to where I've been handcuff and placed in the back seat of a cop car to nearly getting hit and chase'd by one. For the people that know about me they know i've put in my dirt back in my day and for the people that don't I really don't give a shit if they never heard of my name or crew. I'm done with politic's and only in it to please myself at what I think is a stress reliever, that's the reason why im satisfy with this legal tip.

ANY SHOUT OUT'S OR DISSES YOU WANNA ADD?
Much crew love to the agents and PBK posse, Alex Canevaro Photography, NBC, and Afiliated clothing for the opportunity. also cant forget my fam and friends. as for them disses i'll give them to you personally when I see you. Thank's

INTERVIEW: PESCI ONE PSA

:THE MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND"

1.WHAT DO YOU WRITE? Pesci One

2. WHAT CREWS DO YOU REP FOR (if any)? PSA - Palm Springs Artists

3. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WRITING? I started writing in 1989 up to 1992. I then stopped after that because of all the craziness involved with the Law, revival crews, a bad drug habit at the time, personal discouragements I was feeling with my drawing abilities & life in general.
My 20s were a growing up time for me. I really didn't start back up until 1999. Then from 99 to present. So collectively I've been at Graff for 13 years. 89 to 92 were the illegal bombing days, when I actually did write though. After that it has just been about mastering can skillz.... legally.

4. HOW DID THE NAME PESCI COME ABOUT? I wanted to use letters I liked, have a unique name that hadn't been seen or heard before & it fit my personality somewhat too. It really is an acronym: Painting Every Single Creation Intensely!!

5. HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN YOUR STYLE OF GRAFFITI? Man I go with whatever inspires me. If I am feeling an image and get that inclination to paint it then I will! If I just pick up my black book and just go to it with the pencil and just start drawing then if it comes out the way I want it and looks tight I want to put it to paint! My style is undefined at this juncture because I just flow like water. If you put it in the cup it becomes the cup. If you pour water in a basin it becomes the basin. My style is water, I try to adapt my art to whatever scenario presents itself. Whatever way my art comes out as is the style for that particular piece. Always clean & crisp...

6. ANY GOOD GRAFFITI STORY'S(like being chased by cops or running into some shit) Damn! How much space do want me to take up on the Blog... Hahaha
I actually have one story I'll share. This is a two incident-in-one story both in the same night. I just told this one recently to my friend Lester who actually used to be in the Rival crew I'm about to mention:
The crew and I(PSA-594) had gone to a club on the corner of Hwy 111 & Golf Club Dr. the abandoned building now & probably forever...LOL. Anyway, we all rolled up in there for some 18 and over rap concert a friend of mine, Shane Riddle, was performing in. A rival crew we had massive problems with had showed up too. Well prior to that I had just slipped out the back door by myself cuz I wanted to hit up some spots while everyone was in the club partying. The rival crew must have known I wasn't there because they saw the rest of PSA and they actually left the club in two car loads just to look for me. Meanwhile, I'm out bombing street light poles(my personal favorite) and walls on Hwy 111 and around the AMPM right there in Cat City.
I proceeded to the back of Upper Crust Pizza and the Furniture store buildings hittin some spots back there. Well, no sooner did I finish one of the walls when I noticed two sets of headlights creepin down the back road. There was a bush directly in front of the wall I had just hit up with a 2 foot gap between so I ducked down looking through the bushes watching. At first I thought it was cops. I could hear voices in the two cars hollering back to each other "Hey, the mutha fucker's tags lead right to here". At that very moment I knew it was THAT crew!!! I realized they were following my tags like bread crumbs so I just stayed motionless and hoped they didn't get out of their cars to come diss the freshly painted tag DIRECTLY above me.
They stopped right where I was hiding and I could hear them saying "Where'd he go". I thought for sure they were gonna get out and diss that tag I just did, if they would've they would have found me right there. I thought for sure I was gonna get shot or severely jumped but I just stayed calm and watched as the two car loads slowly pulled away. I remained there for another 3 minutes after they drove away and re-hid just in case the rolled through again, but luckily they didn't. So my crazy ass starts bombing again as I headed back to the Club.
I arrived back to the club and found my friends still in there having a good time. I asked my friend Shea if I could borrow his car for a little while so he threw me the keys and said "Just for awhile alright!!" I hopped into his GEO Storm, popular 90s car, and took off towards Palm Springs. Right before I crossed over the bridge below Bob Hope's house I decided to pull over and hit up this little reflector sign. So I pulled Shea's car over and turned on the hazard lights so I could be "inconspicuous"...hahaha LOL. Yeah right, no sooner did I spray out the letters PE when I noticed a cop pull up right behind me. His initial intention was to see if he could help. Once I saw him I threw the can over the bridge and started walking back towards the car. Immediately he asked what he could do to help and I told him "no problem just got a flat". At this point I blew it because his next question was "then why were you over there near the reflector sign if you have a flat?" Uh uh uh uh so he walked over to it and noticed freshly painted letters PE and boom.... BUSTED! Luckily however, I was suspected of the tag PEZ so I went with it because I had already been brought in for questioning in prior months before by Detective Parker of the Palm Springs Police regarding PESCI, which was a 3 inch thick log book of photo after photo of all my tags, throw ups & Quiksilvers I had done all over the Coachella Valley!! I'm glad I didn't get busted for the name!
That was the last night of the end of my run as a Graffiti writer. Not too long after that crazy night I decided to get my life together, get sober and move away due to all the drama in the CV that I had created for myself over the last 4 years as a bomber!!! May I remind the reader that this is just one story of many! I got away with one thing only to get caught for another man!! "Every dog has it's day", as the old saying goes...

7. IN YOUR OPINION WHAT'S BETTER MONTANA PAINT OR RUSTOLIUM PAINT? Montana paint is by far better just because the cans flow better with the caps. Rustolium is an old skool paint that no one should knock though. Without it there wouldn't be Montana and all the other paint brands we have today. I still use it but the only problem with the Rusto cans is you get aerosol issues. It works best as a fresh can but when you get down to the dregs of it, it starts malfunctioning with the aerosol flow. And also a lot of the really good caps don't fit it all that well. Especially Testers which are still a dope cap, I don't care what anyone says!!

8. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE GRAFF SCENE IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY NOW N DAYS? It has blown up so much since the early days. There is definitely a way bigger art scene here in the Desert now. I think it's GREAT that it has become so much more prevalent in the last few years. There is a lot of serious talent and I am proud to still be a part of scene after all these years of ups and downs.

9. HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO THE OLD SKOOL DAYZ? I don't know man... We were crazy UP back in the day if you are referring to tagging & doing throw ups!!! There weren't as many writers then as now-a-dayz but the few were definitely down for their craft and got UP often!!! You would usually see new bombs UP in Palm Springs, Cat City and DHS like every single day!! Not as much now, at least from my perspective. But in a way that could be a good thing too. The price to pay for doing Graff now is way harsher than back then so the kids now-a-dayz that are doing it illegally are puttin a lot on the line to get their name out there!!!

10. ANY SHOUT OUTS?
To my fiance Alisha Perkins(Soon to be Reller), for helping make me into the man I am today, my son Danny Jr., REZ Life skateboard wheels(Augie Yerma), KilAtWill(Lester), Cezer aka Defs, Dirt Magazine(JB), Milko Magazine in London, England coming out in July 2009(Dayo), Modify Tatoo for the paint deals they gimme(Trooper), GOR One • DPT from Sweden, Cortes NYCity and last but not least to Afiliated Clothing(Emirc Uno)...
